Personal Resume: Giuseppe Mendicino is full Professor in Hydraulic Engineering at the Department of Environmental and Chemical Engineering of the University of Calabria. Former President of the Study Course in Environmental Engineering of the University of Calabria, he was also lecturer in several Master Courses, and Visiting Assistant Professor at Purdue University, Indiana. Member of the board of the Ph.D. Course in Environmental Hydraulic Engineering, in cooperation with University of Calabria, Polytechnic of Bari and University of Basilicata, he was member of several Scientific Committees of international projects and conferences. His scientific activity is mainly focused in the fields of hydrology and applied hydraulics. He participated to numerous national and international research projects, specifically being Head of Research Unit in the European Community "Interreg IIC Project - Land Analysis and Drought Mitigation - Subprogram I: Water Balance Analysis", in the Programme Interreg IIIB Medocc, "Interreg - Sécheresse et Désertification dans le bassin Méditerranéen", in the Interreg III B Archimed European project "PRODIM - PROactive management of water systems to face Drought and water scarcity in the Islands and coastal areas of the Mediterranean", in the PRIN project "Forecasting and mitigation of drought". His publication activity can be summarized in more than 120 journal papers, contributions to national and international conferences, book chapters. He is reviewer of several high impact international journals.
