Profilo:
Reza is currently a PhD researcher at the University of Calabria, Italy, with a previous Master’s degree in civil engineering-water engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2015. He has also gained valuable experience in the industrial sector since 2017, working primarily on river engineering in the Regional Water Company of Yazd, Iran.
As a materials researcher, his work focuses on developing a two-variate drought index (rainfall and runoff) for multivariate drought frequency analyses. His expertise lies in the development and implementation of research tools, as well as data analysis and interpretation. His ultimate aim is to make contributions to the development of modern decision support system platforms for integrated drought-flood-wildfire risk management that have a positive impact on people’s lives.
He has a keen interest in advanced multi-hazard risk assessment and management models and have already gained valuable experience working with academic environments like Lund University, Sweden, Washington State University, USA and University of Nevada, Las Vegas, USA. Currently, his focus is on addressing drought and wildfire risk using remote sensing and AI-based techniques.
